Pink Zinc — Limited Edition Print

Pink Zinc is the latest offering from Mitchell English.

This work captures the languid choreography of a summer beach day — figures stretched out, pausing, moving, waiting — suspended in a soft, sun-washed pink field that feels both nostalgic and contemporary.

Umbrellas tilt. Surfboards rest. Bodies recline and regroup. The scene unfolds like a memory: familiar, slightly abstracted, and gently rhythmic. Rather than depicting a single moment, Pink Zinc holds many at once — the quiet in-between spaces that define coastal life as much as the action itself.

Colour plays a central role here. The stunning pink ground is warm and expansive, offset by muted blues, creams and zinc-like neutrals that echo light reflecting off sand, skin and saltwater. Figures are simplified but expressive, allowing gesture and placement to do the emotional work. The result is a composition that feels relaxed yet deliberate — effortless, but deeply considered.

This work speaks to Mitchell English’s enduring fascination with the Australian beach as a social landscape — a place of ritual, rest, and shared experience. It is not a dramatic coastline, but an intimate one: human, sun-drenched, and quietly iconic.

The original Pink Zinc is available for collection from Collecté, St Bartsnew gallery and design store on the Gold Coast. 

Please note:  Due to the different materials and framing techniques, there will be from 1 cm up to several cm difference in sizes between framed prints on art rag paper and those on printed and framed on canvas.
