Mitchell English accepts a limited number of commissions each year, with the subject and scale discussed directly with the collector.

Mitchell English creates custom artworks for private collectors, architects, interior designers and stylists.

You may choose to commission one of Mitch’s well-known Heatwave paintings — including the option to incorporate yourself, your family, or a specific setting — or work with him on something entirely different. While Heatwave is a recognised and much-loved series, Mitch’s practice extends well beyond it, and commissions are tailored to suit each individual brief.

Mitch works closely with clients to develop an artwork that feels right for the space, the context, and the people it’s for.

His work has been featured in publications including Vogue Living, belle, InsideOut, Taschen, Home Beautiful and ELLE Decoration.

 

Commission details

When commissioning an original artwork, Mitch will work with you to define the subject, colour palette and scale. Works can be created to suit specific locations in private homes or commercial settings, including hotels, resorts, restaurants and retail spaces.

If desired, personal details can be incorporated into the work. Mitch paints in acrylic on linen or canvas, unframed or framed according to your choice.

Depending upon size and custom requirements, commission pieces are typically priced fromAUD $4,500 and usually take between 8 to 12 weeks — from commencement to delivery.
